Clee
Introducing our resident Space CADet - Clee. A long standing studio holder at CADS Works, she found herself to be out of space in her humble studio, to accomplish her artistic aims. Unable to accommodate costs of upgrading to a larger studio, she applied for the Space CADet programme so she could have the means and the space to complete her sculptures and move forward with her artistic career.
We asked her why should she become a Space CADet;
‘Space: Space has always been a concern for me (since in utero – I am a twin!) and I always desire to work/sculpt larger than my means.
Cadet: I am a perpetual student (actively studying for most of my life).
Space Cadet (Urban Dictionary Definition): I am “easily lost in reverie [losing] all awareness of the surrounding physical world.” I work intuitively and this is a prerequisite quality.
I don’t want to be an astronaut, nor function under the influence of drugs, but I would like the opportunity to realise a project that I can’t otherwise do without this space.’
