Eyre Street Studios becomes: The Cornerstone - A Creative Collective
An eco-system of creative and community enterprises, serving people and planet from Eyre Street, Sheffield.
Affordable, flexible space for start-ups and social projects.
Supporting creative re-imagination of disused space in Sheffield’s city-centre.
The Cornerstone Creative Collective is a community of creative enterprise operating out of the old Freeman College building in Sheffield’s city centre. The Cornerstone building has provided affordable space and enterprise support in the city-centre for start-ups, social projects and creative initiatives, providing the setting for a creative collective of the city’s most innovative new enterprises.
The complex and its constituent members work from a starting point of collaboration, mutual-support, social responsibility and a desire for change, and run services ranging from recycling food waste, to running creative enterprise workshops, to teaching method acting, to running street-food markets and public events.
Through multiple nascent and expanding projects operating simultaneously under one roof, The Cornerstone has enabled the cross-fertilisation of ideas, trade and demographics, to bring vibrancy into a dormant asset in Sheffield’s city-centre.

Art Sheffield is coming to CADS! - Scratch Video
Using pre-existing footage, recorded from television, or borrowed from other sources, multiple artist's have created collages of incongruous, sometimes clashing imagery, set to sound and music. The malleability of the VCR format liberated artists in a way often compared to the record-scratching of hip-hop – leading to the coining of the term ‘scratch video’.
This is a two month long exhibit being held at 156 Arundel Street
It is open Tuesday threw till Sunday, 12pm–5pm
SPACE CADETS OPPORTUNITY - Waverly House, The Wicker
We're currently at the beginnings of moving into a hugely exciting old building on The Wicker, called Waverly House, and are just starting the renovation work inside the building. However, while we carry this out there's rooms and rooms of free space, simply aching to be used and brought to life again.
To open up this old building to you all, and make the most of the building, we're looking for exciting new artistic and social projects to utilise the free space within Waverly House through our Space CADets programme! This availability of free space at Waverly House will run until the end of February 2016.
Visit our opportunities page to read more about the programme, download an application form, and tell us about the project you've got lined up: http://cads-online.co.uk/opportunities/
CADS move into The Wicker with new multi-storey complex: Waverly House
Waverly House is a four storey building previously used for light industry and legal practice, which is now being transformed into a hub of creative enterprise, social projects and start-ups by CADS. It is a prospect we're extremely excited about, and we're welcoming people and organisations down to the site to explore the potential of the site.
Comprising 13,300 sqft over four floors, it features a combination of large rooms, smaller spaces, and open-plan floors. Parking, fibre-optic broadband, central heating and utilities are all included in the rental price, which varies according to the room type.
Being just 5 minutes walk from the city centre, Waverley House is ideally poised to be at the centre of the Wicker’s immediate future, with the renovation process just beginning, there is huge potential for organisations and interested customers to shape the interior of the building, and be intimately involved in a transformational project in the heart of Sheffield.
Waverly House is set to be one of CADS biggest complexes, plugging into the already rich professional and creative networks that CADS has developed over its 6 years of operations in the city, to become a centre of change in the area.
To arrange a viewing of the premises, or if you have any questions about the project, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Studios & Space Manager at email@example.com.

Can you swap your bed for a sleeping bag to give Sheffield’s homeless young people a future? For just ONE night!’
On November 13th Youth Homelessness Charity 'Roundabout' are hosting a 'Sleep Out' at CADS, inviting people to come and experience a night of rough sleeping and raising money for the charity at the same time.
We think its ridiculous in a country like the UK that there are still young people who don't have a roof over their heads. If you would like to help support this fantastic charity and want to take part in the sleep out you can use the link to sign up!
